Lecture 03:Design patterns for screen

Conventions that have developed in terms of user interface and in terms of page composition

    Hamburger icon: Used to save space on the screen and is the best option for full screen images on websites.
    Account registration: Effective and encourages users to keep on looking through information. Makes it seem more manageable in the hands of a user.
    Long scroll: Draws users in from the story look of it and simplifies navigation.
    Card layouts: Presents as little as possible information and is easy to read. Only has a brief amount of text.
    Hero images: High definition, faster way to grab a users attention and don’t need to suffer from slow load time.
    Animation: Is advance story telling and more attractive to viewers. Pop up notifications, spinners,loading bars and entertain user’s spinners are all examples.
    Material design: Minimalistic design style and the goal is to create a clean design that focuses on user experience. Uses shadow to effect concept of movement and depth to create designs more realistic.
    Responsive design: Represents symbol and is cheap. Minimalistic to keep the page size down.
    Flat design: Simple and timeless.
